Alumni

Ridgeview Institute has active Alumni Associations for various populations campus wide. Our largest and oldest Ridgeview Alumni Association serves adults who have been treated at Ridgeview. Initially founded to support adults in recovery who have been treated in our addiction program, over the years our Alumni Association has expanded to include dually diagnosed alumni and those with psychiatric disorders.

The Steering Committee for Ridgeview’s Alumni Association has more than 100 members who are committed to supporting current adult patients. Alumni are available to talk with patients and families new to recovery, encourage involvement in 12-step programs, and provide support as patients leave treatment and transition back to their daily lives. Many former patients have told us that talking to someone who had experienced success in recovery offered tremendous hope, support and guidance in their early recovery.

The Alumni Association is active in the recovering community year round and regularly sponsors speaker meetings, family events, parties, retreats and on-going support for alumni. They publish a bi-annual newsletter circulated to 3500 alumni. The Alumni Association is responsible for planning, constructing and maintaining the beautiful serenity garden on our campus.

Young Adult Addiction patients who have completed treatment at Ridgeview also participate in this Alumni Association. Those who are clean and sober for six months may return monthly to share their experience in early recovery and serve on a panel for young adults and adolescents addressing questions and concerns of those currently in treatment. This group has started a weekly 12-step meeting for both current young adult patients and young adult alumni. There is also a ride share program where active young adult alumni with a year’s sobriety take current patients to off-campus, gender-specific and young adult meetings.

Women’s Services Alumni Association is comprised of a group of women in an active recovery who have completed treatment in Women’s Services at Ridgeview. The main purpose of the Alumni Association is to promote and sustain recovery through fellowship, unity and service to each other and the community. Alumni Association members volunteer their time by planning and participating in various functions in the community and on campus. The only requirement to join is the desire to serve and a commitment to recovery.
